Colors records its highest ever GRP

The channel has garnered 338 GRPs as per TAM's Week 41 analysis

Colors is rejoicing at its latest feat. The general entertainment channel (GEC) has recorded 338 GRPs (C&S, 4+, HSM) in Week 41. TAM Media Research data shows that the channel has added 68 GRPs from the previous week and grabbed 26 per cent of the overall GEC pie.

Colors had recorded 325 GRPs in Week 37, when Khatron Ke Khiladi Level 2 was launched. Bigg Boss Season 3 recorded a TVR of 4.6 and about 18 million viewers tuned into the show. Sach Ka Saamna on STAR Plus, too, garnered the same TVR on launch day, although its run time was less than that of Bigg Boss. Bigg Boss Season 2 had opened to a TVR of 2.5.

STAR Plus and Zee TV are at the No. 2 position in Week 41, with 19 per cent share each. The GRPs garnered by the channels are 257 and 247 respectively.

Sony, which is at No. 4, has had a slight decline over the last week. Its channel share is 10 per cent, while in Week 40 it was 12 per cent. With 112 GRPs, NDTV Imagine is at No. 5. Its reality show, Pati, Patni Aur Woh, which ran into a controversy, has recorded a TVR of 1.7.

SAB's channel share stays at 5 per cent, followed by STAR One's at 4 per cent. DD1 has lost some share and its share stands at 3 per cent, same as Sahara One's. 9X and STAR Utsav have channel shares of 1 per cent each.

The Bigg Boss effect seems to have rubbed off on Colors' other shows. Uttaran, which was at No. 8 in Week 40, is now at No. 5, recording a TVR of 5.2. Na Aana Is Des Laado has moved up from No. 10 in Week 40 to No. 2 in the latest week, with a TVR of 5.8.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is the most watched show on Hindi GECs, with a TVR of 6.

The other shows in the Top 10 list are – Balika Vadhu, Bidayi, Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, Bigg Boss Season 3, Pavitra Rishta, Chhoti Bahu and SaReGaMaPa Lil Champs '09.
