Anil Srivatsa joins Kings XI Punjab as CEO

Srivatsa, who left Meow FM in June, is joining the Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia-led IPL team

Anil Srivatsa has decided to join Kings XI Punjab, the IPL (Indian Premier League) team led by Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia, as chief executive officer. He will assume his role from today.

The post was earlier held by Neil Maxwell, who was the CEO of the team during the first season of the IPL. The former Australian cricket player was also marketing director at New Zealand Cricket earlier.

Earlier, Srivatsa was associated with Meow FM, the radio venture of the India Today group, as chief operating officer. He was with the 'for-women' radio station for almost three years. Srivatsa, currently based in Bengaluru, will shift to Mumbai to take up the new assignment and will report to the board of directors, Kings XI Punjab. It is learnt that in the new role, he will be responsible for managing the entire company and its revenue.

After completing graduation in criminology, public administration and journalism from Mysore University, Srivatsa also acquired an M.Sc degree in telecommunications from Kutztown University.

He took up radio jockeying as a hobby. And at the young age of 21 years, he started his career as the editor and publisher of Blossoms City, the first city magazine of Bengaluru. Srivatsa completed a stint of four years with the venture.

Subsequently, he moved on to television, where he worked for nearly 15 yrs in different functions such as production, management and syndication. He has also tried his hands at cable network, DTH (direct to home) and IPTV.

During his career spanning about 20 years, he has worked with ImaginAsian Entertainment Inc., a US based entertainment company; RTV UK; and Kelly Broadcasting, where he oversaw the creation and development of the cricket channel.
