The new division of Jagran Prakashan, Jagran Coffee Table Books launches its first title, Jagran Gems

Jagran Prakashan's Jagran Coffee Table Books, a new division that handles the publishing of coffee-table books, has launched it first title, Jagran Gems. The coffee-table book is based on the SMEs (small and medium entrepreneurs) of Uttar Pradesh.

Talking about Jagran's decision to enter into coffee-table books, Alok Sanwal, project coordinator, Jagran Coffee Table Books, says, "We have been in the book-publishing business for quite some time now. So, it was a natural progression towards coffee-table books. Also, the decision was prompted by the fact that there is a premium segment of readers, which we haven't tapped yet. Through this effort, we have tried to do that."

& #BANNER1 & #Jagran Coffee Table Books has partnered with BMW Deutsche Motors for the initiative, with the latter sponsoring the first title.

Jagran Gems, available at a cover price of Rs 850, peeps into the lives of some of the prominent entrepreneurs in Uttar Pradesh. "This book is a tribute to those who dared to dream. These select faces of the business world are all here with the collective message, 'Where there is a will, there is a way'. Having made a difference to the entire spectrum of their respective chosen area of specialisation, they are today a veritable source of inspiration to many," says Sharmishtha Sharma, the author of Jagran Gems.

The TG of the new division is affluent readers and medium-sized entrepreneurs, who have a keen interest in this segment of books. Sanwal adds that there will be opulent pictures in all the books.

The group plans to launch at least four coffee table books every year. Each book will be priced in the range of Rs 800 to Rs 2,000, and will have 150 to 250 pages on an average.

The group has already zeroed down the subjects for two more books -- Riyasads (royal estates) and Jewellery of UP.
