Talking about Jagran's decision to enter into coffee-table books, Alok Sanwal, project coordinator, Jagran Coffee Table Books, says, "We have been in the book-publishing business for quite some time now. So, it was a natural progression towards coffee-table books. Also, the decision was prompted by the fact that there is a premium segment of readers, which we haven't tapped yet. Through this effort, we have tried to do that."

Jagran Coffee Table Books has partnered with BMW Deutsche Motors for the initiative, with the latter sponsoring the first title.

Jagran Gems, available at a cover price of Rs 850, peeps into the lives of some of the prominent entrepreneurs in Uttar Pradesh. "This book is a tribute to those who dared to dream. These select faces of the business world are all here with the collective message, 'Where there is a will, there is a way'. Having made a difference to the entire spectrum of their respective chosen area of specialisation, they are today a veritable source of inspiration to many," says Sharmishtha Sharma, the author of Jagran Gems.

The group has already zeroed down the subjects for two more books -- Riyasads (royal estates) and Jewellery of UP.
