Allied Media appoints Priya Iyer as business director, South

Allied Media, the media arm of Percept Limited, has brought aboard Priya Iyer as business director for its South operations. She will report to PM Balakrishna, vice-president, Allied Media, and will be responsible for all aspects of the media business for Allied's South Indian operations in Bengaluru and Chennai, including new business generation.

Prior to this, Iyer was director at Catalyst, the strategic consultancy unit of Havas Media.

She adds that this move will be different, as along with everyday functional responsibilities of the office, the delivery of a strong, strategic product and client relationships will be a priority.

Iyer has close to a decade's experience in media planning and buying. She started her career with Starcom, where she chiefly looked after media buying in Mumbai and Bengaluru, handling clients such as Fiat Motors, Western Union Money Transfer, South African Breweries, Sun Microsystems and Ferrero Rocher.

After around six years there, she moved to Maxus, where she was group head on various accounts in Kerala and Bengaluru, including Arvind Brands, AMD, and Vodafone's BTL account in Bengaluru and Karnataka. A year later, she moved to Catalyst, where she also worked on some South East Asian brands.

At Catalyst, where she spent about two years, some of the chief accounts she looked after include Reckitt Benckiser, HDFC, and Disney Baby.
