Creativeland Asia gets Paul Menacherry on-board

Menacherry will head the agency's Kochi office

Creativeland Asia has got Paul Menacherry on-board as executive creative director. He will be based in Kochi and will oversee the agency's South operations. Menacherry's previous stint was with Quadrant, where he was the national creative director.

Speaking about the appointment, Sajan Raj Kurup, founder and chief creative officer, Creativeland Asia, says, "He's a fabulous creative guy and is also blessed with good business acumen -- a combination we really value at Creativeland, necessarily in that order."

The agency's South-based clients -- in Chennai, Bangalore and Kochi -- include Café Coffee Day, Medimix Soaps, John Distilleries and Cuticura Soaps. The agency also uses its Kochi office as a creative and design R&D facility called CLA Labs, to research and test ideas.

Menacherry says, "I find the culture of Creativeland Asia to be a unique combination of freedom and responsibility. The work reflects that tired, old ideas don't stand a chance here. I hope to add to that culture in every which way I can."

By education, Menacherry is a mechanical engineer. He started his career in advertising 15 years ago. He has worked as creative director at Saatchi & Saatchi and Trikaya. He has also worked at Euro, PSL, McCann and TBWA, on brands such as Mahindra, Godrej, Tata Mutual Fund, TVS, Indigo Nation, Hindustan Times, BPL Mobile and Gujarat Ambuja.

Menacherry has quite a few laurels to his credit. His work has been recognized by awards including Clio, Cannes and London International. Besides, his work has been featured in the Archives, The WORK.
