Sabina Solomon, general manager of Media Research Users Council (MRUC) has put in her papers. It has been a week or so since the development happened. The reason for her exit from the research body is not known and there is no indication of a replacement yet, but a member of the council confirmed her exit.
Solomon was responsible for the functioning of the council which has representation from agencies, media owners and advertisers. She replaced N P Sathyamurthy (now with Lintas Media Group) who quit to join Carat Media.
Before joining MRUC, Solomon worked with media agencies such as Carat Media. She turned a media consultant in 2003 and has worked with advertising agencies such as
Law and Kenneth and AMO.
In the early part of her career, she worked extensively in the direct marketing space. She set up DataBasics, a direct marketing agency along with a partner which eventually merged with DIREM Marketing Services, where she was shareholder and board member.
