Shamik Talukder appointed as national head - Mirchi Activation

Talukder moves from OOH Media, where he served as business director

Shamik Talukder has been appointed as the national head for Mirchi Activation. Mirchi Activation is a vertical of the Entertainment Network India Limited (Radio Mirchi Group), which organises and sponsors events that facilitate an alternative source of revenue for the company.

Talukder brings with him over 13 years of media experience. He has worked with well-known companies such as Star TV, Radio Mirchi, Times TV and FM, Radio Mid-day,, Sony Entertainment Television, Times OOH, Essel Group and VIA OOH.

This is, therefore, Talukder's second stint at ENIL, where earlier, he was part of the launch team for Radio Mirchi and served as the sales head, north. He now moves to Mirchi Activation from the out-of-home television company, OOH Media, where he was business director.

In the past, he has held positions of regional sales head in Sony Entertainment Television and national business head in Times OOH. He also launched and managed outdoor advertising media firm, VIA OOH as a co-promoter. After this, he was vice-president - Internet in the Essel Group. He joined OOH Media in May this year.

Commenting on the development, Talukder tells afaqs!, "I was part of the launch team of Radio Mirchi, so this is like a homecoming for me. It's a very exciting opportunity. Mirchi Activation is handling clients across the board. This is a flourishing business and I hope to take it to the next level in the coming year."

Mirchi Activation works with clients such as Dabur and Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India.
