Vizeum bags Essar Corporate business

This is Vizeum's fourth win in five weeks

Vizeum India is on an account winning spree. Latest in its bouquet is the Essar Corporate business. It has been appointed the media AOR (agency on record) following a multi-agency pitch. The pitch, it is known, spanned across two months and involved four rounds.

Industry insiders say that in the last round, the shortlisted agencies were Vizeum and Starcom. The account size is estimated at more than Rs 50 crore. The incumbent media agency for Essar Corporate was Maxus.

Sandip Sen, head, Essar Corporate Brand, says in an official communiqué, "The decision to choose Vizeum was taken after a robust media pitch. The deciding factor was Vizeum's strategic thinking, its communication perspective and its commitment to our business."

This is Vizeum's fourth business win in the last month or so. About the agency's strategy for the brand, S Yesudas, managing director, Indian sub-continent, Vizeum, says, "The Essar brand needed to talk to various audiences. Considering the diversity, we had to fine tune the same into four critical segments and deploy the media resources both from a micro and macro perspective."

The Essar Group has varied businesses such as energy, steel, power, shipping and logistics and construction. Vizeum's mandate will be to manage the company's media investments in a manner that will facilitate a relationship between Essar and its various stakeholders and consumers.

In the last five weeks, Vizeum India has won accounts such as BSA Motors, Giovani and the Luxor/Parker Group. Vizeum was launched in India in June and belongs to Aegis Media. It operates in 48 countries and in almost all of these markets, it co-exists with Carat, the other media brand owned by Aegis Media.
