Lowe Lintas forays into film production with Lintas Productions

Tarun Chauhan, executive director, Lowe Lintas, will head Lintas Productions

Lowe Lintas has launched Lintas Productions, its foray into film production. Lintas Productions will offer feature film and television production, content creation and talent management.

Tarun Chauhan, executive director, Lowe Lintas will head the unit; while Krishna Kotian has been appointed the business head.

Chauhan's appointment is in addition to his existing role at Lowe Lintas. Kotian was earlier the business head of Lintertainment, the entertainment marketing division of Lowe Lintas.

In a press statement, Kotian says, "The objective of Lintas Productions is essentially to create entertaining and memorable content for the audiovisual medium and bring enduring characters and treasured moments to our screens. Over the years, Lowe Lintas has introduced faces through brands such as Liril and Surf, which have become a memorable part of television history. We hope to continue doing so with Lintas Productions."

"It is a natural extension for us. Many creative guys here aspire to be a Balki. Lintas Productions gives them an in-house platform. Moreover, it is a lucrative business opportunity," he tells afaqs!.

Seven senior-level appointments will be made for the various divisions in the production unit, adds Chauhan.

The unit is currently working on a couple of ad film productions. While some scripts for films have been identified; three reality show concepts have been selected and talks are in progress with television channels, Kotian says.

Lintas Productions has entered into an alliance with UK-based production house, Twin Continental Films.

"Twin Continental Films will help us get access to international talent, such as actors, directors and other such professionals," Kotian explains.

The unit has signed up prominent international and domestic talent. This includes UK-based super model, Masha, the former face of world brands such as Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Panasonic Viera TV, Samsung camera, Ferrari and Ford; and Revanta Sarabhai, the son of dancer, Malika Sarabhai.
