It is not known where the COO, West of TBWA is now headed

TBWA India's chief operating officer for the Western region has put in his papers. Madan Mohan is serving his notice period at the agency, until the end of the year. The news has been confirmed by industry sources.

Prior to joining TBWA in 2006, Mohan was vice-president at Rediffusion Y&R, where he worked for two years. In 2001, he had joined Ambience D'Arcy, now known as Publicis Ambience; he quit the agency in 2004 as its general manager. Mohan has also spent some time at Lowe Lintas.

At TBWA India, in 2008, Mohan and Nirmalya Sen were elevated from senior vice-president to the position of COO. Mohan was responsible for the Mumbai and Pune operations; while Sen was responsible for the Northern region. Earlier that year, Shiv Sethuraman quit Ogilvy, Paris to become the chief executive officer for TBWA's India operations.

It is not known yet where Mohan is headed, as he was unavailable for comment. When afaqs! contacted Sethuraman, he declined to comment on the development.

There have been numerous changes at TBWA India since Omnicom took over the reins in September 2008.

The agency started off as Anthem, owned by K George John. It entered into a partnership with TBWA in 1998; ten years after George John set it up.

After the takeover in 2008, George John moved to an advisory role at the agency. The agency's chief strategy officer, Sourabh Mishra and head of Disruption, Narayan Kumar quit a while later. Kalyan Ram Challapalli now heads the Disruption function.

Earlier this year, the last stakeholder in the agency, N Krishnan, stepped down as COO and CFO for TBWA India Group; and Niraj Dadoo took over from him.
