TBWA India is still making changes to its core team. The agency, now wholly owned by Omnicom, has created a new role at the advertising agency with the appointment of Nirmalya Sen as managing director.
Sen has been a part of TBWA since 2006. In 2008, he and Madan Mohan, senior vice-presidents of the North and West regions respectively, were promoted as chief operating officers.
& #BANNER1 & #Sen will take up the new responsibility in 2010 and will then be based in Mumbai. He is currently overseeing the agency's work in Delhi. Mohan has recently put in his papers at the agency and is serving his notice period till the end of the month.
Shiv Sethuraman, chief executive officer, TBWA India tells afaqs!, "Along with his responsibilities as MD, Nirmalya will continue to oversee the Delhi operations with a second line of management."
As of now, there are no plans for bringing on a branch head in the Mumbai or Delhi offices, shares Sethuraman.
Sen started his career in 1991 with Jensen & Nicholson as brand manager. His tryst with advertising began in 1994 when he joined Saatchi & Saatchi as group account executive. In 1996, Sen joined Trikaya (now known as Grey India) as group account director. After a year, he moved back to Saatchi & Saatchi as client servicing director and stayed there till 1999. In 2000, he joined Mudra Communications as branch director and five years later, quit as vice-president to join TBWA India.
The current structure at TBWA India has Shiv Sethuraman as its CEO, Nirmalya Sen as the MD of the advertising agency, John Matthew as the MD and national creative director of TBWA's BTL (below-the-line) arm, Tequila. Niraj Dadoo is chief financial officer and Kalyan Ram Challapalli is the head of Disruption.
