Northpoint Learning Centre and The Nielsen Company have come together to start a new course that would create specialists in marketing research.
The Certificate Course in Marketing Research is a fast-track career programme that will be available at the postgraduate level. The 11-month course will be conducted at the Northpoint campus in Khandala.
AC Nielsen and Northpoint have recognised that the marketing research industry in India would employ nearly 25,000 trained professionals by 2011. It is to cater to this imminent need that the two have come together.
Prem Mehta, chairman, Northpoint Learning Centre emphasised that the programme would create and develop resources in individuals for the industry.
The curriculum for the year-long course has been designed by both the entities. About seven modules have been prepared, in order to deliver a well-rounded course. The course also includes hands-on projects and an internship with The Nielsen Company.
"The course has been designed such that the students land on ground and begin to run," says Mehta.
Northpoint has been conducting its advertising, media and marketing communications programme for about seven years now. Thus, a foundation for the marketing research course was easier to prepare.
Admissions are presently open and the first batch will begin from the current academic year (more details are available at www.northpointindia.com).
For the record, The Nielsen Company is a global information and media company, with leading market positions in marketing and consumer information, television and other media measurement, online intelligence, mobile measurement, trade shows and business publications.
The Northpoint Learning Centre aims to promote business success by empowering managers and young professionals with updated knowledge and decision-making skills, to make all learning relevant.
