Disney Network of Channels' nationwide pitch is a platform for people with original ideas for kids' shows. The winner takes a grant of Rs 5 lakh home to further develop the idea into a production bible

Disney Network of Channels, comprising Disney Channel, Disney XD and Hungama TV, has called for a nationwide pitch for new show ideas. This platform has been created for people with original ideas for kids' TV shows.

The online network, indiantelevision.com has partnered with the Disney network to engineer this special event.

Pitchkiaow, as the event is called, will be held on March 11 at IMAX Wadala, Mumbai. People, who live up to the brand promise of the Disney group, will be invited to the online screening process at the venue.

The winner will take home a grant of Rs 5 lakh to further develop the idea into a production bible, which will be aired exclusively on Disney Channel, Disney XD and Hungama TV. Also, two development grants would be sanctioned, one for the animation genre and another for the live action genre. The last date to register for this event is March 5.

Natasha Malhotra, vice-president and general manager, Walt Disney Television International India, talks about the concept of Pitchkiaow. "The business of Disney thrives on pillars such as creativity and originality. One needs to explore the raw talent present in the country; and this event can be the platform for all those who aspire to make it big with good content ideas."

People from varied backgrounds, be it students, freelancers or production houses, have been invited to demonstrate their talent either in animation or live action -- in long form, short form, fiction or non-fiction.

"We have been consistent in organising pitching sessions. We want to provide a platform to all those young television professionals and media people, who can bring out their best if given an opportunity like this. There are a lot of good entries and exciting ideas pouring in. Disney has partnered with indiantelevision.com, as well as animationxpress.com, for this special movement," says Anil Wanvari, founder, CEO and editor-in-chief of the indiantelevision.com group and the Indian representative of the TV content markets, MipTV and Mipcom.
