Shome, who has spent close to a decade with PepsiCo, had joined HT Media three years ago
Senior reliable sources from HT Media reveal that Neelanjan Shome, chief marketing officer, HT Media has called it quits at the organisation. It is also learnt that he had put in his papers some time ago and has also served his notice period, which ended last week.
Meanwhile, Pankaj Seith, vice-president, consumer insights; Shantanu Bhanja, VP, marketing; and Rajan Bhalla, VP marketing, HT Media will jointly handle the responsibilities earlier handled by Shome.
Shome has spent close to three years at HT Media, where he was responsible for managing assets in print (English and Hindi general interest dailies, English business newspaper), radio and the Internet.
Earlier, Shome was managing director, Young & Rubicam, Indonesia, for a year. He has more than 25 years of brand building experience in the packaged goods industry for regional P&L and regional marketing, and country marketing for advertising and media across Asia.
He has also been associated with PepsiCo for a decade, where he held various positions. He was responsible for starting up PepsiCo's non-carbonated division in the Asia Pacific and prior to that, he was also responsible for brand marketing for all the beverage brands of the company in the Asia Pacific region. His last designation at PepsiCo was that of regional VP, non-carbonated beverages, Asia Pacific.
Shome has also worked with Lintas India between 1987 and 1994 as general manager, consumer goods.
