Chaudhuri's responsibilities will include local content acquisition and local productions for Disney, Disney XD and Hungama TV
Walt Disney Television International India has appointed Arnab Chaudhuri as director, content and creative strategy for Disney's TV network in India. Chaudhuri will be based in Mumbai.
Disney has four channels in India, including Disney Channel, Disney XD and Hungama TV.
Chaudhuri's key responsibilities include aligning local content acquisition, local production and animation projects. He will be responsible for interstitials and on-air promotions to support the programming for the network's channels in the country.
Chaudhuri has 15 years of industry experience and has dabbled in animation creation, creative direction, on-air promotions, programming and general management. He has worked across markets such as India, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, Australia and the Philippines.
Prior to joining Walt Disney International India, he has directed a full length animation feature film, Arjun, for UTV.
Sharing his reasons for moving to Walt Disney Television International India, Chaudhuri says that Disney as a network has been known for successfully delivering quality entertainment that transcends age, gender and geographies. Thus, what excited him was the responsibility and challenge to further these initiatives - to bring content that is locally relevant for the audience and raises the bar on creativity and quality for the viewers.
