Videocon d2h, the direct-to-home (DTH) service provider arm of Videocon Group, has brought actor Abhishek Bachchan on-board as its brand ambassador. In an event in Mumbai, the company also unveiled its satellite product range, consisting of satellite LCDs, satellite colour televisions, satellite DVDS and satellite box offering DTH services.
The products come with unique features, such as two tickers on screen, live preview screen on active games, transparent onscreen display, and an information bar on screen that provides details about the programme, along with temperature, date, time, weather and reminder information. Customers can choose from an offering of 244 channels and services.
Bachchan will feature across the entire Videocon d2h brand and product communication, including television commercials, print, outdoor, radio and BTL activities. Publicis Ambience handles the creative duties for the brand.
Launched in 2009, Videocon d2h is the latest entrant in the DTH segment in India and offers the world's first satellite product range. These products receive DTH services directly and do not need a set top box.
Videocon d2h has partnered with Irdeto, as it offers pay-TV operators a versatile, modular and scalable Conditional Access system (CAS), which protects content conveyed over cable, satellite, terrestrial, IP, mobile and hybrid networks.
