Atrayee Chakraborty joins MEC as business head

Prior to joining MEC, she was with Lintas Media Group (LMG) as director, planning sciences

Atrayee Chakraborty, director, planning sciences, Lintas Media Group (LMG) has joined MEC as business head and is all set to handle the newly acquired account, Colgate Palmolive.

Sources close to the development reveal that Chakraborty took up her new assignment in early March. She has 10 years of industry experience, having worked with agencies such as LMG, Lowe, Lintas India and Hindustan Thompson Associates (now Mindshare).

She specialises in strategic communication planning for brands across categories. As part of her last assignment with LMG, she was involved in making communication planning for brands more scientific and time saving. At the organisation, she looked after strategic planning for brands such as Maruti, ITC, Etisalat, Bajaj Auto and Jyothi Laboratories. At the same time, she also contributed to business development.

As brand planning director, Lowe Lintas India she handled communication planning for two Hindustan Unilever brands, Pepsodent and Pure It. At Insight, Lintas India, she was involved in pitching for new business and worked on brands such as Future Group, Zydus Cadila and Shaw Wallace.

Chakraborty started her career in 2002 as assistant media planner with Hindustan Thompson Associates and handled clients such as ITC Tobacco and Bata. She is an MBA in marketing from Institute of Business Management, Jadavpur University and has completed a Masters degree in Economics from Presidency College, University of Kolkata.
