Viplove Gupte has been elevated to national programming head at 92.7 Big FM. Since May 2008, he was associate vice-president, programming. Gupte will now report to Tarun Katial, chief executive officer, Reliance Media World.

Nirupam Sonu, the erstwhile programming head of Big FM will continue his association with the radio station as a consultant.

In his new role, Gupte will be responsible for the programming strategy of all the Big FM stations across the country, devising the creative mix for every city.

"Gupte's expertise lies in building growth through effective troubleshooting, as he flexes his creative buds to provide radio listeners clutter-breaking entertainment," Katial says.

Gupte has over a decade's experience. He started his career at advertising agency, Brainwave in Indore, where he was creative head. His tryst with radio began in 2001, when he joined as programming head for Radio Mirchi's Indore station.

He later moved to Mirchi Movies in Mumbai as content head. In 2006, Gupte joined My FM as the national programming head, where he was part of the team that launched 16 of its stations.
