Koppar was vice-president and strategic planning director at JWT India. She will join Tata Teleservices as assistant vice-president in the marketing function
Anupama Wagh-Koppar, vice-president and strategic planning director, JWT India, has decided to move out of the agency. She will soon join Tata Teleservices as assistant vice-president in the marketing function, and will report to Lloyd Mathias, chief marketing officer, Tata Teleservices.
On her appointment, Mathias says, "Our growth at Tata Teleservices, particularly over the last one year, has been phenomenal. And this is pointing us towards sharper consumer segmentation, be it for any of our brands, such as Docomo, Walky or Indicom. Anupama will play a vital role in shaping that function."
Koppar has over 16 years of experience in the field of marketing, and her career spans brand strategy, knowledge management and communication strategy. She has worked in various sectors, such as FMCG, including in packaged foods at Parle Products and Marico (brand manager on Saffola), home textiles (Bombay Dyeing) and healthcare (Cipla). She has also worked on knowledge management at Timex Global Services and TNS Research.
At JWT, Koppar worked on the repositioning of Horlicks Lite and Munch chocolates, and was also a part of the launch of Woman's Horlicks and Horlicks Nutrition Academy. She also worked on a multi-agency pitch for Commonwealth Games 2010 and helped win it, creating a communication approach for each TG segment for the Games.
