DNA appoints Deva Dutta as vice-president, revenues, Bengaluru

Dutta joins DNA Bengaluru from The Printers (Mysore), where he was head of national advertising sales, circulation and HR

DNA has recently appointed Deva Dutta as vice-president, ad sales (revenues) for its Bengaluru edition. Dutta will report to Dipayan Chowdhury, executive vice-president (revenues).

Dutta assumed his new role on April 01. Prior to this, he was associated with The Printers (Mysore) for the past seven years. For the last three years, he was responsible for handling the marketing, advertising and HR functions at the newspaper.

Talking to afaqs! about his new assignment, Dutta says, "DNA is the paper of the future. It's promising and has innovative design as well as content. And my experience will help me contribute to the future of the company."

Armed with over 27 years of experience in the media industry, Dutta has also worked with ABP Group, the publishers of Ananda Bazaar Patrika. He started his career in media with ABP and was associated with the group for 20 years, handling various key functions and important markets.

Dutta has a Masters of Science degree in Physics and a diploma in business management. At DNA, he will be in-charge of the complete functioning of the Bengaluru edition; and his expertise will also be used for the future expansion plans of the group in South India.

In an official communiqué, Chowdhury of DNA says, "Dutta has rich experience in handling the print market and understands the dynamics of the print industry and the intricacies involved."

For the record, DNA is owned by Diligent Media, which is a joint venture between the Dainik Bhaskar Group and Zee Group. It is published from Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Ahmedabad and Jaipur.
