Jaitly confirmed the development to afaqs! and informs that he plans to join a telecom company as chief operating officer. "Telecom as a sector always interested me; and I'm going back to the sector."

With 24 years of experience, Jaitly has worked across sectors such as media, FMCG and telecom. In his earlier stint, he was the CEO, Punjab circle, Bharti Airtel. He was also associated with Modi Xerox, Star TV, MESAT Broadcast Network System, Pepsi Foods and Data Access. At STAR, he handled sales for the Northern region.

According to him, working with Airtel was a challenge, because the telecom industry itself was coming up in a big way. And it was not easy to acquire customers in an industry that was just shaping up.

Having done masters in business administration from Long Island University, Jaitly started his career as a management trainee with Citicorp, New York.
