The awards receive entries from across Asia-Pacific

Saurabh Dasgupta, executive creative director, Innocean Worldwide and Ambika Sharma, national head, Jagran Solutions have been appointed to judge Promotion Marketing Awards of Asia (PMAA) 2010.

The PMAA award is about innovations done in the area of promotion. It takes into account the idea, as well as the execution and the results of that idea. The awards give significant weight to the results of the campaign.

"That is what separates it from other awards. Other creative awards only evaluate the creative idea, while PMAA takes into account all aspects of it- right up to the results achieved from it. This is what makes a campaign successful," says Dasgupta, who judged PMAA 2009, too.

Last year, the PMAA submissions were up 32 per cent across categories.

Speaking to afaqs!, Dasgupta says that he was impressed with the quality of entries from India that he came across while judging the PMAA 2009.

Dasgupta has been in the advertising industry for more than 15 years and has worked for Mudra and Leo Burnett in Delhi. Last year, he also judged the MAA awards. Earlier, Dasgupta has had stints in the jury for the New York Festivals.

Sharma, who is the zonal director for India for the PMAA, has also served as a judge at the PMAA and MAA International Awards.

The PMAA will be judged in 16 categories. Subsequently, the winning entries will participate in the MAA global awards.
