The company aims to be amongst the top five agencies in the next five years
Media sales company Publicitas has roped in Robin Carruthers as managing director to head its OOH (out of home) business.
"We are making our offerings to clients slightly larger by adding an outdoor advertising perspective to their business as well and in that sense, what we are going to do initially for our clients is to act as a specialist outdoor agency that will strategise, plan, implement and execute outdoor campaigns for clients in sync with what brands want," says Carruthers.
As a part of the international PubliGroupe, the agency gets access to the best international practices, technology, research and planning rules that are internationally accepted, which it plans to use to enhance its value.
The agency is in the process of building a team which will include some of the best people in the industry in India. As for its plans in India, Carruthers says, "We have our vision clearly chalked out for us and we would like to be amongst the top five agencies in the space in the next three years."
To achieve that position, the agency does not plan to use only conventional outdoor media. "We will talk to audiences out of their homes in whichever way possible, which is in sync with what the brand stands for and what the brand wants - be it activation, small signage or conventional outdoor," says Carruthers.
Earlier, Carruthers was chief executive officer, Square Circle Media Outdoors and has also served as CEO of out of home company Clear Channel Communications, where he joined in 2005 as national head, sales. He has also worked with Grey Worldwide (formerly known as Trikaya Grey) and various other outdoor agencies such as Primesite, MOMS, OAP and RMG David.
Publicitas has been present in India for more than 10 years through Mediascope Publicitas. The company has been offering media services to its clients in India in terms of buying media space for them in specialised publications abroad.
