Gourav Tandon joins Mediascope Publicitas as COO

Mediascope Publicitas, the Swiss media sales company, has roped in Gourav Tandon as chief operating officer for its newly formed OOH (out of home) business.

Prior to this, Tandon was chief operating officer, Navia Asia.

Mediascope Publicitas recently roped in Robin Carruthers, ex-chief executive officer, Square Circle Media Outdoors as managing director to head its OOH business.

Tandon has more than 14 years of experience in the OOH media business and has worked in all aspects of OOH including printing, signages, acquisition and sale of media, besides planning and buying. He has worked on brands such as LG, Emaar MGF, Voltas, Michelin Tyres, Yamaha, Sony Ericsson and Panasonic.

He began his career with GMS Technologies and then worked with agencies such as MOMS, Aaren Initiative and Ogilvy. He has also worked for Clear Channel, where he was handling the assets and AOR divisions for the North region.

Mediascope Publicitas aims to be amongst the top five agencies in the industry in the next three years. It plans to bring in its international experience as the key differentiator in the market. As a part of the international PubliGroupe, the agency has access to the best international practices, technology, research and planning rules that are internationally accepted, which it plans to use to enhance its value.

Additionally, in the OOH space, the agency does not plan to use only conventional outdoor media but talk to audiences through activations as well.

Publicitas has been present in India for more than 10 years through Mediascope Publicitas. The company has been offering media services to its clients in India in terms of buying media space in specialised publications abroad.
