Prior to joining DishTV, he was with ESPN-STAR Sports as managing director
DTH player DishTV has appointed RC Venkateish as chief executive officer.
Early this month, Venkateish had put in his papers at ESPN-STAR Sports (ESS) India as managing director. He had been with the organisation for seven years, having joined ESS in 2003.
The post of CEO at DishTV was lying vacant since 2009, when Vinay Aggarawal quit the organisation.
With a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras and a Master's degree in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, Venkateish began his career as a management trainee with GlaxoSmithKline Beecham.
In an official communiqué, Jawahar Goel, managing director, DishTV, says, "Venkateish has had an excellent track record in heading leading brands. His experience gives him a well-seasoned perspective, which perfectly complements DishTV's needs as a rapidly growing company with the highest market share."
Venkateish could not be reached for comments despite repeated attempts at the time of filing the story.
