The agency will soon come up with a global campaign about the country, aimed at drawing the attention of investors in developed nations towards various SEZ projects waiting to be flagged off in Gabon. Based on the initial response, the agency will work on the future communication strategy.

Gabon's economy is dominated by oil revenues, which comprise roughly 46 per cent of the government's budget; 43 per cent of gross domestic product (GDP); and 81 per cent of the country's exports. Oil production is now declining rapidly; some experts even suggest that Gabonese oil would be expended by 2025. In spite of the decreasing oil revenues, planning is only now beginning for alternative future scenarios.

Prior to the discovery of oil, logging was the major activity in the Gabonese economy. Today, logging and manganese mining are important income generators. Also, recent explorations point to the presence of the world's largest unexploited iron ore deposit in the country.

Gabon is also one of the least densely inhabited countries in Africa, with a population that is currently estimated at 1,514,993.
