There are about 20 cable channels in the state doing a business of about Rs 25 crore
SureWave Spot TV, a Bengaluru based media solutions company, will now sell cable channels in Kerala to national advertisers.
As of now the company, has tied up with MSO (multi system operator) Asianet, which owns seven cable channels and reaches out to almost 70 per cent of TV households in Kerala. However, the company also plans to tie up with other cable channels and form a consortium.
The company aims to become a one-stop destination for placing ads on cable channels in Kerala across MSOs. The service also offers advertisers specific details related to time and exact placement of their advertisements in programmes bought by them.
"Local cable channels in Kerala enjoy high viewership and SureWaves Spot TV will not only help local advertisers but national advertisers as well to use the combined power of these local channels to reach out to consumers," he adds.
Khare informs that the company plans to roll out the service in other neighbouring markets as well.
Another advantage that SureWaves Spot TV provides advertiser's is that it is capable of reverse tracking on TV, thus providing marketers information related to proof of telecast, in which markets and at what time.
S Rajeev, executive vice-president, Asianet Satellite Communications, says, "SureWaves Spot TV is mainly a solution for ad-scheduling and it helps MSOs automate the entire set of ads. It contributes to making one more accountable. The offering is not about viewership. Instead, it ensures proof of place as it gives actual number of ads that have gone into a serial."
