Alakh Advertising dons a new look and logo

A trendier, more contemporary logo helps ring in a new era for outdoor media owner, Alakh Advertising

Borrowing from the famous saying, 'The only thing that is constant is change', 20-year-old outdoor media company, Alakh Advertising and Publicity, which was set up under the proprietorship of Abha Gulati, has recently undergone a revamp in look and logo.

While its old logo resembled a flame and rays around it with a cursive font for the company name, the new logo is trendier and more contemporary, with a stroke of colours going through the letter 'A' and a sleek new font. A new tagline has also been created that very simply reads, 'Moving ahead...'

Speaking to afaqs!, Geetika Gulati, director, Alakh Advertising says, "The decision to change the logo is to announce that Alakh, after two decades of its inception, has emerged a new, dynamic organisation, striving to realise the goals of its clientele by fulfilling their OOH media expectations."

Alakh Advertising, in terms of site ownership, has presence in Mumbai, Thane, Vashi and Nagpur. In Mumbai, it has rights to certain railway properties stretching from Marine Drive to Dadar, as well as approximately 250 hoardings across the city and mobile vans in Thane.

Through tie-ups with other media owners, it also offers clients pan-India campaigns, some of which have been executed for Bisleri and UTV Bloomberg. Alakh's key clients include UTV, MTV, Vimal, Lodha Group and Videocon.

Gulati explains the different components of the new logo, which was designed by Mumbai-based Forecast Advertising. She says that the stroke of colors emerging from a point and getting bigger signifies force and growth.

The colour purple connotes royalty, luxury, wealth and sophistication; while dark pink connotes gratitude. Yellow is the colour of sunshine, associated with freshness, intellect and energy; while green is colour of nature, symbolizing growth and harmony, and suggesting stability and endurance.

In the fonts, the colour blue represents loyalty, productivity, and intellect; while grey makes it look efficient and adds a touch of class. The bold, strong font depicts power and confidence.

"This logo unit is made to look very stylish and chic; a very modern logo that characterizes youth and the beginning to a new era. The logo is very simple and subtle, yet marks the zenith of success, achievement and force. The logo thus symbolizes a strong foothold and development," says Gulati.

Abha Gulati, founder and proprietor, Alakh Advertising, says, "The new logo is a symbol of promise and growth -- growth not only for us, but also for the outdoor media users to derive fullest benefit for their products and services."

The change in logo and look coincides with a shift in address; the company has moved into a modern and spacious office in Khar, Mumbai.

The company has also made some new appointments in the top and middle management recently. The team currently consists of over 50 people, and Alakh plans to steadily expand the team. "We have a stream of young professionals, who have the experience and expertise to achieve any given task, and are still ambitious to increase the talent level," concludes Gulati.
