Padmanabhan's key role will be to build and grow the Big Street business, thus enabling a significant contribution to RBNL
Big Street, the out-of-home initiative of Reliance Broadcast Network Limited (RBNL), has announced the appointment of Ashwin Padmanabhan as national head. Padmanabhan has been with the group since its inception. Prior to moving to Big Street, he was the station head of 92.7 Big FM in Delhi.
Under Padmanabhan's leadership, Big FM Delhi saw a year-on-year growth in revenues of 28 per cent and a mammoth 30 per cent growth in listenership. He was also responsible for the launch and success of the 92.7 Big FM stations in Andhra Pradesh.
Of his new role, Padmanabhan says, "I am really excited. RBNL is an extremely dynamic and growth focused organization with constantly evolving opportunities. Big Street has built superlative OOH assets in the North, and in the coming months, we will be focusing on the West to evaluate opportunities and build assets. With this, we will be able to offer our clients innovative OOH assets across key markets."
At Big Street, Padmanabhan's key role will be to build and grow the business, thus enabling a significant contribution to RBNL. He will focus on acquisition and creation of innovative OOH inventories across the country. He will also drive research on the usage and consumption of Big Street's OOH offerings.
Padmanabhan has 14 years' experience spanning various sectors. He began his career with Reliance Industries Limited at their Hazira petrochemical complex. Subsequently, he started his own venture, Superseva.com - India's first online concierge services company. He was also instrumental in setting up and launching the news channel, TV-9.
Prior to joining 92.7 Big FM, he was with Visage Media Services, the stock photography company, and an affiliate of Getty Images as director, content development. An Engineering degree holder from NIT Trichy; Padmanabhan has also done his Masters in Business Administration from the Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM) in Trichy.
It is to be noted that Reliance Broadcast Network (formerly known as Reliance Media World) is part of the Reliance ADA Group and underwent a change in name in July this year. RBNL operates in the spaces of radio, experiential marketing, OOH and digital with 92.7 Big FM, Big Live, Big Street and Big Digital respectively.
