Indian agencies continue to make an impression in The Work

Indian agencies continue to participate in The Work and once again, many have made it to the final entries for this year's edition of the annual advertising archive.

Now in its 9th year of publication, The Work is a 400 page, hard cover publication that features the best advertising of the year from Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Published by Campaign Brief, it is recognised as a record of creativity for the entire region. Included with the annual are two DVDs with all the accepted TV, film, integrated and radio entries.

Taking the lead this time is Ogilvy India with nine entries, including Breakthrough Trust's 'Bank Clerk, Software Engineer, Bus Driver' in Public Service TV Campaign category; Fevicol's 'Fevicol Moustache' in Television - Single category; The Economist's 'Baby', 'Bag', 'Whale', 'Vulture' in Newspapers category; Vodafone's 'Choking Lives - Sea Birds, Cattle, Turtles' in Public Service - Print category; 'Vodafone Zoozoos' in Integrated and 'Vodafone Zoozoos - Park Bench, Scream, Xerox, Suicide' in TV and Films category. All these campaigns have been done by Ogilvy Mumbai.

The agency's Delhi office is not far behind, with three entries including Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary's 'Ornithologist' in Direct category; and two entries for Eno - one each for 'Eno Bubbles - Pig, Fish and Lamb' and 'Eno Deflated - Radish, Eggplant and Tomato' in Poster category.

Leo Burnett is next with five entries. These include Sambhavna Trust's 'Awareness of Bhopal Gas Victims- Citizens for Bhopal' in Print - Single category; Tide Detergent's 'Tide Magttraction - Ketchup, Ink, Coffee and Egg' in Magazines category; two entries for Akshara's 'Helpline' and Bajaj Hand Blender's 'Pleasure of Mixing' in Radio and Lingo's 'Akbar' in Television category.

JWT has four entries including Fujifilm's 'Inner Smile' in Newspapers category; GSK's 'Horlicks Pro Height Room' in Ambient Single; Apollo Hospitals' 'Apollo Blood Donation' in Public Service TV single and National Geographic's 'Magician' in Public Service Single.

McCann Erickson too has four entries, including Friends for Education's 'Legend Abuse', Onida Washing Machine's 'Clothesline' and Republic of Chicken's 'Fire Scooter' in Ambient and Videocon Air Conditioners' 'Shelves1, 2 & 3' in Posters category.

Publicis India is next with three entries. These include Omaxe's 'Old Couple, Twins & Robbers' in Posters category; HP's 'Avatar' in Ambient Single category and Stedfast Paper Shredder's 'Shredded Stories - JFK, Roswell, Nehru' in Radio category.

Publicis Ambience has managed two entries, including Publicis Communications' B2B campaign and one campaign for Croft Pens in Newspapers category.

Rediffusion Y&R did not send any entries this year.

To qualify for entry into the annual, an ad or campaign must have already passed the test and been a finalist or winner at a recognised national or international awards show.
