Bloomberg UTV appoints Manoj Menon to head ad sales

Bloomberg UTV has appointed Manoj Menon as senior vice-president, ad sales. He joined the company's Mumbai office on September 20. Menon will report to Deepak Lamba, business head, Bloomberg UTV.

Menon will be responsible for increasing the channel's revenue and capitalising on the channel's renewed programming and branding.

Lamba says, "I'm confident that with Manoj's vast experience in selling various genres of media and his interactions with a cross section of clients, we'll ensure that our ad sales team is best-in-class and able to meet the challenges of the business news market."

Menon says, "Bloomberg UTV has shown a lot of promise in this competitive genre. I look forward to being a part of such a young, vibrant and motivated environment and to be a part of its phenomenal growth story."

Earlier, Menon was head, ad sales, STAR Movies and STAR World. He has more than 17 years of experience in ad sales, of which 11 years have been with various channels of the STAR Network (since August 1999).

In June 2010, Bloomberg UTV changed its positioning to being a 'blunt and sharp' business news channel catering to the growth aspirer community. Recently, the channel launched reality shows such as The Pitch and The Assignment.
