Partho Sengupta joins Hakuhodo Percept as ECD

Though Sengupta was unavailable for comment, sources close to him have confirmed the development

Partho Sengupta, ex-creative director, iris has moved to Hakuhodo Percept Delhi as executive creative director. He will report to Harindra Singh, vice-chairperson and managing director, Percept.

Prior to joining iris, he was associated with BBDO as creative director and was one of the first appointments when the agency set up shop in the country in 2008. Earlier, Sengupta was with Rediffusion Y&R (previously Rediffusion DY&R). He joined Rediff in September 2006 and was looking after the creative for the non-Airtel brands of the agency, including Xerox, General Motors and Bacardi; he also worked on Amway's first commercial. Before stepping out of the agency, for a brief period, he also handled the creative for Airtel.

Armed with degrees in visual arts, photography and film making, Sengupta began his career in advertising about 15 years ago at Lowe's Kolkata branch. He has also worked with Bates 141 (then Enterprise Nexus) and Mudra. Also, he has had short stints at Saatchi & Saatchi, Euro RSCG, Cheil Communications and Dentsu Marcom.

Some of the brands that Sengupta has worked on include Samsung, Sony TV and Handycams, McDonald's, Maruti, Mitsubishi Lancer, Hyundai Santro Xing, Elantra and Sonata, HBO and DT Cinemas and SBI credit cards.

Established in January 2000, Hakuhodo Percept is a brand management specialist offering an entire spectrum of advertising, marketing and media buying services. Hindware and Toshiba are some of the accounts handled by the agency's Delhi office.
