Samsung India's Dinesh Chandra joins Kohler India as marketing director

Chandra joined Kohler after a three year stint at Samsung

Dinesh Chandra, general manager, brand marketing, Samsung India has moved on to join Kohler India as marketing director.

Chandra's stint at Samsung lasted nearly three years. He will lead the marketing efforts of Kohler's kitchen and bath products in India. Prior to Samsung, he was general manager, marketing at Agrotech Foods, a subsidiary of Conagra Foods.

On his decision, Chandra says, "I saw a new challenge in Kohler that will define a new phase in my career. Kohler's business philosophy and mission to enhance gracious living bowled me over. Like Samsung, I believe Kohler's focus on brand, design, innovation and quality will truly impress the Indian consumers in the coming years."

Chandra is a graduate from St. Stephen's College and IMT Ghaziabad. With an experience of more than 20 years in marketing, he has worked across sectors such as consumer durables, fast moving consumer goods and services sectors that include brands such as Airtel, Sony and Yamaha.

On his immediate mandate, Chandra tells afaqs! that he is looking forward to substantially increase Kohler's presence in the consumer business and strive for further growth.

Kohler, one of America's oldest and largest privately held companies, is a significant global player in the manufacture of kitchen and bath products, engines and power generation systems, cabinetry and tile, and home interiors.

Headquartered at Gurgaon in India, the company has invested more than $100 million in two manufacturing facilities in Gujarat and considers the Indian market to be rather important.
