Kanika Saxena quits as AVP-marketing, UTV Bindass

Saxena has about eight years of experience

Kanika Saxena, the erstwhile associate vice-president, marketing at UTV Bindass has left the company. As of now, Kunal Mukherjee, AVP marketing, UTV is looking after her responsibilities at the channel.

Confirming the development, Nikhil Gandhi, business head, UTV Bindass says, "Kanika has decided to move on. We are considering a few people for the position and we'll finalise the same."

Saxena terms her stay at UTV Bindass as "fantastic". On her next destination, she says, "I am weighing my options; but before I take up any job, I want to take a break. I have been associated with 5,000 movies and I would like to watch them."

Although passionate about working in media, Saxena would look at challenging roles in other sectors as well.

Saxena has over eight years of experience, of which about two years have been spent at UTV Bindass. She was actively involved in the annual channel strategy formulation and brand building initiatives to ensure that the channel achieves top position in the youth entertainment genre (against the earlier No. 4 position).

Prior to UTV Bindass, Saxena was associated with Sahara One as senior manager - marketing for over a year.

Saxena started her career in 1999, as marketing executive in the real estate industry with CB Richard Ellis, Bangalore. This was followed by a year-long stint as consultant with Carat Media Services. In 2003, she became the group head, at Mindshare, where she spent two years; followed by a year at Zee TV as senior manager - marketing. She also worked as manager - marketing at Sony Entertainment Television from January 2006 to October 2007, before moving to Sahara One.
