The pizza brand plans to create more buzz and engage consumers with the brand on Facebook and Twitter
Pizza Hut has appointed Hungama Digital to handle its social media marketing business.
Speaking to afaqs!, a spokesperson from Hungama Digital says, "Our mandate will be to use social media to create buzz and engage users with the brand. We will mainly use Facebook and Twitter for the same."
The pizza brand is already active on Facebook (Facebook.com/pizzahutindia, 1.19 lakh fans; Facebook.com/pizzahutcelebrations, 2.05 lakh fans) and Twitter (Twitter.com/pizzahut_india, 328 followers). So far, the social media presence seems to be focused on announcing discount offers and running various contests.
In an official communiqué, Anup Jain, director, marketing, Yum! Restaurants India - Pizza Hut, says, "Social media is increasingly becoming the platform for interacting directly with the consumers. At Pizza Hut, we are extremely focused on strengthening our brand presence on the social media platform. Our fan page, Pizza Hut Celebrations (Facebook.com/pizzahutcelebrations), is already the largest restaurant brand community in India on Facebook."
Hungama Digital also manages social media campaigns for brands such as Videocon, Bacardi, Pepsi and ITC Vivel.
