GEC Watch: Six of the top 10 shows are on STAR Plus

Colors gains 18 GRPs and remains in the second spot, while Zee returns to the third spot and Sony slides back to the fourth position

The No.1 channel in the Hindi GEC space, STAR Plus, has gained 12 GRPs over the last week, as per the TAM data (C&S, 4+, HSM). The channel's relative share has increased from 27.2 per cent in Week 43 to 27.6 in Week 44. It has managed to garner 391 GRPs. Six of its shows have made it to the list of Top 10 shows.

Viacom18's channel, Colors, has also maintained its No. 2 position. The channel has gained 18 GRPs and has clocked 268 GRPs. Its relative share has increased from 18 per cent in Week 43 to 18.9 per cent in Week 44. Two of the channel's shows - Uttaran with 4.57 TVR and Balika Vadhu with 4.31 TVR - have made it to the Top 10 list this week.

This week saw Zee TV snatching the No. 3 spot from Sony. The channel managed to gain just one GRP and thus registered 204 GRPs in Week 44; it clocked a relative share of 14.4 per cent, which declined by 0.2 per cent compared to last week. Zee TV's Pavitra Rishta has managed to make it to the Top 10 list in the latest week.

At No. 4, Sony has garnered a relative share of 14.4 per cent, with 191 GRPs. In fact, it has lost 17 GRPs in the current week. Sony's only show to have made it to the Top 10 list is Kaun Banega Crorepati.

SAB has retained its No. 5 position. The channel has gained 10 GRPs, thus registering 128 GRPs in Week 44 with a relative share of 9.1 per cent.

It is followed by Imagine TV, which has recorded a relative share of 7.9 per cent with 111 GRPs, 15 GRPS more than the previous week.

STAR One is at No. 7; the channel saw an increase of 2 GRPs (from 44 in Week 43 to 46 in Week 44). Its relative share has jumped up marginally by 0.1 per cent to 3.2 per cent.

STAR Utsav and Sahara One have garnered relative shares of 1.7 per cent and 1.6 per cent, respectively; while DD1 has managed to register a relative share of 1.4 per cent.

On the list of 10 most watched programmes on Hindi GECs, Saathiya Saath Nibhana (STAR Plus) rules at No. 1, with a TVR of 5.73. It is followed by Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (STAR Plus), with a TVR of 5.24.

Bidayi, also aired on STAR Plus, is the third most watched programme, recording a TVR of 5.15; it is followed by Sasural Genda Phool on STAR Plus at No. 4 with a TVR of 5.11; and Pratigya at No. 5 with a TVR of 5.02.

The other shows on the Top 10 list are Uttaran, Kaun Banega Crorepati, Pavitra Rishta, Diwali Dilo Ki and Balika Vadhu.
