Quasar appoints Kapil Bhatia as head, social media

Digital agency, Quasar has appointed Kapil Bhatia as head, social media. Prior to this, Bhatia was working with Mudra Communications as director, brand communications. This is the first time that he will work with a dedicated digital agency.

Speaking to afaqs!, Sandeep Singh, co-founder and business head, brand and media solutions, Quasar says, "This is a newly created position at Quasar. We incubated the social-media practice early last year and have scaled up the business and teams rapidly. We are already managing social media initiatives of clients like Microsoft, Eureka Forbes, Kingfisher and Uninor; and wanted to get a leader with a mix of brand marketing knowledge and hands-on social media experience."

On his new role, Bhatia says, "My mandate is to lead the social media team across all offices, to strategize, execute and monitor social media initiatives for the clients; be a trend-spotter and identify new initiatives in the social media space and expand Quasar's offerings. I will also strive to be a social media evangelist for the internal team and work extensively with external partners for effective solution delivery."

Bhatia has about 10 years of work experience, of which he has spent about six years in advertising. He has worked with agencies such as Mudra Communications and Think WhyNot. Some of the brands he has worked on are LIC, Air India, Kotak Mutual Fund, HSBC and Johnnie Walker.
