GEC Watch: STAR Plus adds 34 points to its kitty

Viacom 18's Colors at No. 2, has lost 33 points during the week.

STAR Network's flagship Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC), STAR Plus, has added 34 points to its kitty to score 360 GRPs for the week ended January 22 (C&S 4+, HSM). The relative share of the channel also moved up from 23.9 per cent to 25.5 per cent.

At No. 2, Viacom 18's Colors has lost 33 points during the week, capturing 243 GRPs, while its relative channel share slipped from 20.2 per cent in Week 3 to 17.3 per cent during the fourth week of the year.

Meanwhile, at No. 3, Zee TV has added 13 points to its growth curve over the previous week to capture 235 GRPs in Week 4. Its relative channel share, however, has seen a very miniscule upswing for the week to stand at 16.7 per cent. In the previous week, the relative channel share was 16.3 per cent.

Occupying the fourth spot, Sony, too, observed an upswing in its GRPs. It moved up from 158 GRPs in Week 3 to 173 GRPs during Week 4. Its channel share, too, has moved up from 11.5 per cent during the previous week to 12.3 per cent during this week.

Sibling channel SAB, at the fifth position, remains almost stable as it has added only one point to its pocket. It has scored 137 GRPs in Week 4. Its relative channel share is 9.7 per cent for the week (9.9 per cent in Week 3).

At No. 6, Imagine TV is stable at 6.1 per cent channel share in Week 4, while its points have moved up from 83 GRPs to 86 GRPs.

DD1 is at No. 7 with 67 GRPs; its channel share is 4.7 per cent.

STAR One is at No. 8; the channel's relative share as well as GRPs have moved up during the week to 2.9 per cent (2.6 per cent in the previous week) and 41 GRPs (36 GRPs in the previous week), respectively.

Sahara One and STAR Utsav have garnered relative shares of 2.1 per cent and 2.3 per cent, respectively.

The list of 10 most watched programmes is led by Pavitra Rishta, which clocked a TVR of 6.33. Karbonn Mobile STAR Screen Awards on STAR Plus is at No. 2 with a TVR of 5.39, followed by Saathiya Saath Nibhana with a TVR of 5.26.

Pratigya and Sasural Genda Phool follow with TVRs of 5.03 and 4.88, respectively.

Uttaran (4.49 TVR), Laagi Tujhse Lagan (4.38 TVR), Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai (4.21 TVR), CID (4.03 TVR) and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma (4.08 TVR) are also part of the Top 10 list.
