Amar Ujala AMCL 2011: Concept India, All Sports, Starcom, Rediffusion, GroupM, Aidem and Nimbus win on Day Two in Mumbai

With seven matches in a day, the second day of AMCL in Mumbai was truly action packed. Impressive bowling attacks were the high point of the day.

Concept India versus M&C Saatchi

The first match of Day Two was played between M&C Saatchi and Concept India. Batting first, Team M&C Saatchi set the target of 64 runs for its opponent. Team M&C Saatchi's bowling attack tried in vain to restrict its opponent's total score. Team Concept breached the set target in eight overs. Rakesh and Harshal of Team Concept took two wickets each, ceding 11 and 24 runs, respectively. Rakesh of Concept India was adjudged the Man of the Match for his impressive bowling attack.

Resultrix versus All Sports

Deciding to bat first, Team Resultrix set an easy target of 78 runs for Team All Sports. Rohan of Team Resultrix clinched two important wickets, giving away only three runs. Gopal (32 runs off 18 balls, 5X4) was the highest scorer of Team All Sports and was declared the Man of the Match.

Indigo Consulting versus Starcom

Team Starcom batted first and set an apparently easy target of 60 runs for Team Indigo Consulting. However, Team Indigo Consulting could not reach the target and all its players were out in only 38 runs. The impressive bowling by Ketan, Mayur and Sachin of Team Starcom tilted the match in the team's favour. Mayur of Team Starcom was declared the Man of the Match for his competent bowling. He took two wickets and gave away 12 runs in three overs.

Rediffusion Y&R versus Fever FM

Setting a decent target of 109 runs, Team Rediffusion faced Fever FM in the next match of the day. Santosh and Mayur of Team Rediffusion clinched two wickets each and helped their team to victory. Arastu of Team Fever FM took one wicket, but could not make a dent in the spirit of the opponent. Santos K of Team Rediffusion was declared the Man of the Match for his successful bowling. He took two wickets and ceded 22 runs in two overs.

Lintas versus GroupM

The next match of the day was played between Lintas and GroupM. Batting first, Lintas managed 74 runs in 10 overs. The highest score was 28 runs off 11 balls by Bhagesh. Dipak and Prasad of GroupM successfully tamed the opponent's run rally. The duo took two wickets each and gave away 39 runs in their seven collective overs. GroupM won the match by reaching the target in seven overs. Dipak of GroupM was adjudged the Man of the Match for his measured bowling attack.

Radio City versus Aidem

The penultimate match of the day was between Radio City and Aidem. Batting first, Radio City set a target of 101 runs. The target was easily breached by the opponents. The opening pair of Ashvij and Amit of Aidem wrapped the inning in nearly seven overs. The former scored 60 runs (off 20 balls, 10X4, 2X6) and helped his side to victory. Hersh of Team City was adjudged the Man of the Match for taking three wickets in four overs.

Nimbus versus Interactive Avenues

The last match of the day was between Nimbus and Interactive Avenues. The former batted first and set a target of 109 runs. Rohan of Team Nimbus scored 52 runs (off 23 balls, 7X4) and helped his team set the target. Anand, Santosh and Mangesh of Team Interactive Avenues took two wickets each. Rohan of Team Nimbus was declared the Man of the Match for his impressive half-century.
