Amar Ujala AMCL 2011: JWT, 22feet, Position2 and GroupM sail through in Bengaluru

Travelling across metros and giving cricket lovers a chance to indulge in their favourite sport, Day One of the Bengaluru leg of Amar Ujala AMCL started well. With four matches lined up, the day had ample cricketing competition.

The first match of the Bengaluru chapter of Amar Ujala AMCL was between Dentsu and JWT.

Winning the toss and deciding to field first, Team JWT looked poised to win the match. Team Dentsu gave a manageable target of 66 runs to its opponent. The highest score of the side was by Sam, who scored 29 runs (off 23 balls, 2X4, 2X6).

Louis Anthony of Team JWT proved dangerous for the opponents. Anthony scored 37 runs (off 20 balls, 6X4) and also clinched two wickets. The opening pair of Sudhir and Anthony saw the team through to victory. Team JWT won the match by seven wickets and Louis Anthony was adjudged the Man of the Match.

Interactive Avenues versus 22feet

Deciding to bat first, Team Interactive set a target of 89 runs for Team 22feet.

Prakash Kataria of Team 22feet bowled impressively and snapped three crucial wickets, also scoring 39 runs (off 21 balls, 1X4, 4X6). The 28 extra runs ceded by Team Interactive sealed its fate.

Team 22feet also displayed measured bowling, restricting the opponents to a humble run target. Well strategised batting also helped the chasing team to taste success. Team 22feet won the match by six wickets and Prakash Kataria was declared the Man of the Match.

Euro RSCG 4D Matrix versus Position2

Team Euro batted first and set a target of 101 runs for Team Position2. While the opening pair and the third in line wrapped up quickly, the fourth and fifth batsmen of Team Euro, Karthik and Shourya, managed to bring some stability. The former scored 38 runs (in 20 deliveries, 5X4, 1X6), and the latter scored 26 runs (off 18 balls, 3X4). Vinay of Team Position2 took two wickets and ceded 22 runs in three overs.

The highest scorer of the side was Arnab Sarkar, who gathered 42 runs (off 21 balls, 2X4, 3X6). Breaching the run target of 101 runs, Team Position2 scored 105 runs in 9.3 overs, winning the match by six wickets.

Arnab Sarkar was declared the Man of the Match.

GroupM versus i-Vista Digital Solutions

The last match of the day in Bengaluru saw engaging cricketing performances. Setting a target of 107 runs, GroupM made all efforts to grab victory. The opening pair of Team GroupM, Balram Venugopal and Chirantan Chandran, collectively managed 70 runs (off 33 balls, 10X4) that helped their side to take a comfortable lead. Vijay Raj of Team GroupM, on the other hand, added to the team effort by grabbing two wickets, giving away 10 runs in two overs.

At the end of the inning, Team i-Vista managed 91 runs. Team GroupM won the face-off by 15 runs. Chirantan Chandran was adjudged the Man of the Match.
