Winners of the regional finals in Bengaluru, Team JWT won three consecutive matches in two days.
Position 2 versus JWT
The first of the semi-finals saw Team Position 2 pitted against Team JWT. The latter won the toss and decided to bat first. Setting a target of 133 runs, Team JWT displayed grit and determination.
Group M versus 22feet
The second semi-final was between Team Group M and Team 22feet. The latter won the toss and elected to field first.
Team Group M ended the inning on a humble 64 runs. Anish Madina of Team 22feet clinched three wickets, ceding 26 runs in four wickets. Prakash Kataria of Team 22feet took home two crucial wickets, giving away nine runs in the two overs he bowled.
Team 22feet's opening pair effortlessly met the easy run target in eight overs. Prakash Kataria scored 21 runs in 21 balls (3X4), while his team-mate Praveen Singh scored 28 runs off 29 balls (4X4s). By winning the decisive match by seven wickets, Team 22feet made its way to the Bengaluru finals.
Prakash Kataria was declared the Man of the Match for his unbeaten 21 runs, and the two wickets he grabbed.
22feet versus JWT
Team JWT won the toss and elected to field first making its intentions quite clear. Wavering in front of fierce bowling volleys, Team 22feet was seen losing ground. Muthu of Team JWT proved expensive for the opponents, as he took three wickets.
Giving away 22 runs in the four overs he bowled, Muthu displayed maturity in his bowling attack. Once the opening pair of Praveen and Prakash became victims of Muthu's determined attack, the side was seen scampering for runs.
The solid partnership of the talented opening pair of Sunil and Johan John saw the inning through with commendable ease and finality. Team JWT, deservingly won the match and the Bengaluru regional matches of the tournament. Not losing even a single match, the team was a cheerful lot. Muthu of Team JWT was adjudged the Man of the Match for his notable bowling.
