Lall had co-founded the Gurgaon-based Indian office four years ago with Stewart Shanley, now the agency's global chief operating officer, and Kenneth Augustine, creative director, iris India. The agency has a strength of more than 70 people.

The agency provides integrated service to clients such as Sony Ericsson, Dell, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Shell, Alpha G Corp and adidas.

Talking to afaqs!, Lall confirms the news. He says, "Yes, I'm moving on, but I haven't yet decided where I am headed. Once I decide, it will be announced."

About his association with Lall, Shanley says, "I remember meeting Alok for the first time when we were recruiting for a start-up leader in India. He caught my eye immediately as a true integrated practitioner, as well as being an iris person through and through. He was curious, risk-positive, entrepreneurial, and a real gentleman. We wish him all the best for his next endeavour, and hope to see him again soon."

Lall was earlier branch head and executive vice-president, Saatchi & Saatchi Delhi, which he quit in 2007. He had joined Saatchi & Saatchi after spending close to 15 years (in two different stints) at JWT Delhi. He has also had a brief stint at McCann Erickson.

Lall began his career in the advertising industry in 1989 with FS Advertising in Delhi, quitting it after a few years to join FCB Ulka, after which he moved to JWT.

iris India will now be led by the trio of Ashish Mathur, senior vice-president (for experiential), Kenneth Augustine, creative director, and Ram Krishna, assistant vice-president (for digital and strategy), and will report to Shanley.

Launched in London in 1999, iris is a fast growing micro-network, and has more than 750 employees, working across 23 offices, in 15 countries. Over the past 11 years, iris has diversified into the area of specialist services in varied disciplines, including management consultancy, CRM, direct and digital, along with advertising, PR, experiential, retail, and sponsorship.
