Google appoints Guneet Singh as lead, consumer marketing

Singh, co-founder of the group-buying site, has earlier worked with Microsoft as lead, integrated marketing and communications, consumer and online.

afaqs! has learnt from reliable sources in the industry that Google has roped in Guneet Singh as lead of consumer marketing initiatives. The sources have further revealed that Singh has already joined the internet company at its Gurgaon office and will report to Nikhil Rungta, country marketing head of Google India.

Singh is a business graduate from Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (CBS) and an MBA from SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (Mumbai). He has more than 13 years of experience. He started his career with Samsung, where he was responsible for product marketing of consumer durables.

Singh later moved to ABN AMRO Bank as business head, personal loans. In 2005, he joined Microsoft (India), where he worked as lead, integrated marketing and communications, consumer and online, and was responsible for marketing of Windows, Hotmail and Bing brands in India.
