Subramanyeswar was national planning director at Publicis Communications.

S Subramanyeswar (Subbu), has joined Lowe Lintas as national planning director. Prior to this, he was with Publicis Communications as national planning director.

Confirming his appointment, Joseph George, CEO, Lowe Lintas India, says in a press statement, "Subbu has a brilliant mind and a great attitude. His strategic thinking abilities and his highly evolved grass roots understanding makes him uniquely qualified to develop, nurture and grow Lowe Lintas' partnership with marketers in the non-metro markets."

Subramanyeswar's decision to shift from Publicis Communications to Lowe Lintas is attributed to Lowe's strong planning-led culture. "Lowe always had a strong planning culture and the planning product is well-respected internally, and externally," says Subramanyeswar. "I bought into George's thinking on breaking new ground by being a planning entrepreneur here."

Subramanyeswar has spent around 18 years in advertising and marketing during which he worked at Rediffusion-Y&R, Saatchi & Saatchi, Mudra, Parle and Wipro. Some of the leading brands and companies whose branding he has helped anchor include Citibank, Colgate, Procter & Gamble, General Mills, Renault, Johnson & Johnson, Unilever, Sony Ericsson, Tata Tea, Tata Sky, Nestle and TVS.

At Publicis, Subramanyeswar was a key global planning resource on a number of brand and knowledge initiatives including authoring the 'New Brief'. He had joined Publicis in 2008, prior to which he was executive vice-president, strategy, with Rediffusion. While at Saatchi, he was awarded a Gold for being the best strategic planner in Saatchi Asia in 2006.

A passionate academician, Subramanyeswar has just written his first book titled Chattering Classes. It deals with building brands in a conversational world.
