In his new role, Pant will be responsible for building the Disney brand by driving the company's marketing strategy, coordinating all Disney business marketing efforts, and developing key global and local franchises in India.
Walt Disney has appointed Avinash Pant as executive director -- Marketing. Pant will be based in Mumbai, and will report to Mahesh Samat, country manager and managing director, Walt Disney Company India.
Pant joins Disney from Coca-Cola India, where he was director-marketing, still beverages.
In this new role, Pant will be responsible for building the Disney brand by driving the company's marketing strategy, coordinating all Disney business marketing efforts, and developing key global and local franchises in India.
Additionally, Pant will oversee corporate communications, as well as the Creative Design Cell and Live Events function.

Pant has spent more than 14 years working across various functions and has a vast experience in marketing and in building brands. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and a PGDM -- Marketing, from the Indian Institute of Management, (IIM) Ahmedabad.
After completing his course at IIM, Pant joined Coca-Cola as senior brand manager and has worked in the space of strategic marketing, category and brand management, innovation, media planning and buying, consumer activation and sales.
