Sushma Jhaveri joins Madison Media Infinity as COO

Sushma Jhaveri has joined Madison Media Infinity as chief operating officer (COO). She will be based in Mumbai, and will lead a set of accounts in the Mumbai office. Jhaveri moves in from Carat Media, where she was senior vice-president.

On her appointment, Punitha Arumugam, group chief executive officer, Madison Media, remarks in an official communiqué, "I have interacted with Jhaveri at various industry forums in the past and found her perspective and inputs refreshing and concise. With Jhaveri becoming a Madisonite, I am sure that we will now have her experience and inputs available to our portfolio of clients."

Jhaveri tells afaqs! that an opportunity to work at Madison was "not to be refused" as "Madison has an appealing culture -- unlike the typical MNC media agency", and the brands there are rather prestigious ones. "I also look forward to working with the people here, particularly Sam Balsara (chairperson, Madison India) and Arumugam."

Jhaveri has more than 18 years of experience, having started off at an NGO, and two years later, moving on to join the media and advertising arena in the media planning department at Contract Advertising. She has several years of experience in media planning and research, having worked in companies such as Carat, Mindshare Fulcrum, TME and Synovate.

Across her career, she has worked with clients such as Unilever (oral care and deodorant brands), Colgate, Britannia, Godrej Appliances, Heinz, Castrol, Viacom18, ICICI Bank, STAR Network, Shoppers Stop, HDFC, and others. In her research role, she has been involved with media research, micro market planning software, various ad-tracking studies and formulating customised research for various brands.
