The Big Bang Awards 2011, the annual event of the Advertising Club of Bangalore, held at the Bangalore Palace Grounds, witnessed an interesting mix of big, small and medium-sized agencies across the country taking away the metals this year.
Among the creative agencies, Stark Communications leads the pack with 14 metals in its kitty. It has won six golds, in the categories including Single Press Ad - English, for Heera Construction, Single Press Ad (B2B) for Malayala Manorama's Wedding Procession advertisement, Press Campaign (Language) for Radio mango 91.9, Press Campaign (English) for Malayala Manorama Online, Press Campaign B2B for Malayala Manorama and Direct Mailer for Karnataka Tourism. Other than these, the agency also managed to receive four silvers and four bronze metals, as well.
Dentsu Communications received two golds, with one in the PR Category, and another a bronze.
Pentagon Communications won a gold, two silvers and one bronze. It won the gold in the House Journals category for Sparsh Hospital, silver for House Journals category for Sparsh Hospital, in the Events category for Sparsh Hospital, and yet another bronze for Wipro Mission 10X in the House Journals category.
Titan Industries won one gold, two silvers, including one in the PR Category, and one bronze;
Some other agencies like Suvarna (Asianet Communications) won one gold, one silver and two bronze; Disha Communications and Integrated Brandcomm won one gold and one silver each; Thoughtshop Advertising and Film Productions bagged one gold and one silver; Sorento Healthcare Communications got a gold and a bronze in the Healthcare category; Adverto Advertising and JWT managed to get a gold each.
Tanishq got one silver, and one bronze. Besides, it also bagged the Big Bang award for the Client of the Year, and the Ayaz Peerbhoy Multimedia Campaign of the Year for Creative Agency went to Tanishq from Titan Industries, too.
The Ad Club Media Campaign of the Year award went to Mindshare, for Hindustan Unilever.
Among the media agencies, Maxus leads with 41 metals in its basket, of which 12 are gold, 17 are silver, and 12 are bronze. Some of the categories for which Maxus won golds are Media Innovation -- TV for Nokia, Social Media Campaign for Nokia, Media Innovation -- Cinema, Web Banner for Nokia India, and Digital Social Media Campaign for Kerala Tourism.
Mindshare follows with 12 golds, 11 silvers, and 14 bronzes. The media agency won gold for some categories like Media Innovation -- Radio, Online Campaign for Hindustan Unilever, WAP Application / Mobile Application for Idea, Bluetooth Application (Idea), Use of Mobile Media for Customer Engagement (Idea), Media Integration -- With On-Ground Promotions / Sports Events / Entertainment Events (American Express), to mention a few.
Aakanksha Healthcare bagged three golds, including some in the healthcare segment, as well as six bronze metals.
Some of the other media agencies amongst the winners include Adverb (two golds, one silvers and one bronze), Mediaedge:cia (one gold, one silver and one bronze), Titan Industries (one gold and one silver), 22feet (one gold and one bronze), George P Johnson (two silvers), OMD (two silvers) and Leo Burnett (one bronze).
Other agencies to have won metals in the creative, media, healthcare categories are TCC Group, Fresh Lime Communications, Thinkpot Films, Lowe Interactive, Radio City, Meridian Communications, Origami Creative Concepts, TELi Brahma, Breakthrough, Vikram Hospitals, Video Post and Geek Online, Kinetic, Watermelon, Turrino India and Last Minute Films.
