Vishal Desai joins Colors as associate director, marketing

Viacom18 has roped in Vishal Desai as associate director, marketing, for its flagship Hindi general entertainment channel Colors.

Despite several attempts, no official confirmation could be obtained from Colors, but various senior industry sources have confirmed the development. In his new capacity, Desai will report to Rajesh Iyer, associate vice president, marketing, Colors.

With over 12 years of experience,Desai joins Colors from Times Now, where he was senior manager, marketing. He joined the news channel in April 2005, where his mandate was to fuel the channel's growth efforts through focussed and result-driven consumer marketing campaigns.

He was also responsible for building strategic alliances to enhance the Times Now brand image, and explore alternate revenue generating sources.

Prior to joining Times Now, he was assistant manager, mergers & acquisitions cell, at Bennett, Coleman & Co. for approximately two years. Before joining Bennett, Coleman & Co, he was manager, corporate and projects at Karma Network for two years.
