With more than 12 years of experience in strategic brand planning and development, Srivastava has worked across categories such as aviation, FMCG, automobile, real-estate and fashion.

Jyotsna Chauhan, chief operating officer, IBD India, says, "Srivastava's planning background and penchant to find 'how to be different', along with his experience in handling brands, will add to the IBD way of building brands better and more distinctively."

Having begun his career with Network Advertising in 2001, Srivastava has had stints in other agencies such as Interface Communications and Bates 141. He has also had a two-and-a-half year stint with Jet Airways.

Talking to afaqs!, Srivastava says, "I realised very early in my career that there are two aspects to brand building. One is to look at it from a consumer's perspective, and the other is to look at it from the business point of view. I was interested in learning more about what goes into making a profitable brand -- hence, my stints at advertising agencies, as well as working on the client side."

As branch head, Srivastava's role will be to lead the team at IBD Mumbai. He will be responsible to grow the business and look at sustained relationships with clients and brands by offering holistic solutions across communication touch points through IBD's integrated brand development services and specialised verticals of digital, design and production.

On his new role, Srivastava says, "IBD is a well-enriched company and the agency's portfolio is wide, with the breadth of the categories being phenomenal. I am excited about joining IBD and I am looking forward to partnering with clients in their mission of creating differentiated brands, which eventually will meet the business objectives."

IBD India, which was formed after Percept Holdings acquired By Design India in 2007, handles brands across categories such as fashion, lifestyle, fast-moving consumer goods, media and hospitality, among others.
