Spotlight, the out of home (OOH) division of The Sandesh, the Gujarati newspaper group, has won the advertising rights of C G Road in Ahmedabad. The OOH firm has won the rights for a period of three years for the entire stretch of C G Road, including Stadium Cross Road, Panchwati Cross Road, Parimal Cross Road, H L Commerce Cross Road and Mithakali Six Road.
The bid witnessed participation from other outdoor companies such as Sambhaav Media, Het Graphics, Krishna and Indian Chronicle.
"We would like to look at a pan-Gujarat presence over the next few years, making us one of the strongest OOH players in Gujarat."
As a part of the win, the company has won the ad rights for 26 unipoles (of different sizes), four gantries, 75 centre pole kiosks and 110 side pole kiosks.
C G Road is one of the most sought-after roads of Ahmedabad. It was built under public-private partnership by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and Arvind Mills. As part of the deal, initially, Arvind Mills was given the advertising rights, which in turn, was outsourced to the OOH firm Vantage.
Later, AMC floated a tender announcing a fresh bid. The ad rights were then won by Sambhaav Media for a period of five years. The contract with Sambhaav Media expires at the end of this month.
